STORYTELLER'S RETREAT

 

Gets it's name from the original owner of the house,

(Carl Sharpe) who was Born, raised and also resided in the house his entire life.

​

Carl was known in the community as a "Storyteller" who throughout his life, enjoyed having family, friends and visitors alike, to drop by for a chat. During those gatherings which many times included song and dance, there were stories of the earlier residents of the community, the hardships they endured as well as the fun times they enjoyed, all while helping build this small community and living the traditional Newfoundland outport way of life.

Before his passing in 2007, Carl put his life and many of those stories on paper when he published:

                   

              "Memories in the Life of a Twillingate Man"

​

Storyteller's Retreat is located on the North side of Twillingate Island in the quiet and secluded area of the Town of Crow Head.

​

Within walking distance, you will find, Historic Long Point Lighthouse, Crow's Nest Cafe, Hiking Trails, Long Beach and magnificent view of the ocean and rugged coastline.

Only minutes drive from the Twillingate-NWI Dinner Theatre, Restaurants, Boat Tours, Split Rock Brewery, Museums and much more.
